Can customers get refunds for tickets? What is Tix Assurance?
Refund policies are flexible and work on two levels:
1. Organizer's refund policy:
As an organizer, you decide whether your tickets are refundable or non-refundable. This policy is displayed to customers before purchase.
2. Legal framework (Romania):
Under Romanian law (OUG 34/2014, Article 16), tickets for leisure events with a specific date are exempt from the right of withdrawal. This means customers cannot automatically demand refunds for digital tickets.
3. Tix Assurance:
Tix Assurance is an optional protection service that customers can purchase for an additional fee. If the customer has Tix Assurance and can demonstrate that they cannot attend the event due to:
- Documented medical reasons
- Force majeure circumstances
They receive a full refund, even if you set your tickets as non-refundable. This protects both you and your customers.
4. Event cancellation:
If you cancel or reschedule an event, you are obligated to fully refund all ticket holders.
